Good morning,
I am Christelle Verneret, an architect specializing in High Environmental Quality (HQE). I designed and participated in the construction of this house using an eco-responsible approach, prioritizing healthy materials, light and natural comfort.
My architecture office used to occupy the space of the current guesthouse: the house was then my professional calling card.
Before construction, the land was a walnut grove. One still remains on the property, which is the origin of the name “La Noyeraie du Gît”.
Now transformed into a gîte, this place retains its spirit: to welcome simply, in a natural, comfortable and environmentally friendly setting, at the foot of the Vercors.

In Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère, walnut trees are part of the local heritage and inspired the name “La Noyeraie du Gît”.

A raku-fired terracotta sculpture that I created, symbolizing the stages of life and my journey as a mother.

And a lamp made from driftwood and reclaimed objects, created by my partner.

A holiday cottage in an eco-friendly house
The house was built using healthy, natural and breathable materials, mainly earth and wood.
Facing south, it benefits from large windows that bring natural light and comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the year.
It is equipped with solar panels for hot water and a rainwater harvesting system used for the toilets, washing machine and garden watering.
Natural comfort
Thanks to its raw earth brick walls (adobe) and natural plasters, the house benefits from strong thermal mass, keeping it cool in summer and comfortably warm in winter.
The holiday rental is equipped with lava stone thermal radiators, providing gentle and energy-efficient heating.

Every detail has been thoughtfully chosen to create a warm, authentic and environmentally respectful place where guests can simply feel at home.
An eco-responsible approach in everyday life
The holiday rental has been lived in and tested in real conditions to ensure comfort and well-being in every season.
Organic or locally sourced products, waste sorting, composting, water-saving devices and low-energy equipment are all part of a simple and practical eco-friendly approach.
The gîte has been open for guests since April 2023, with direct bookings available and presence on Airbnb.
An eco-responsible label is currently in progress.
